There are marks to the top including ring marks and ink stains, and two small running cracks, though nothing that compromises the piece, all part of the tapestry of its history. There is a small section of cockbeading missing from the central drawer, otherwise with no losses. The handles to the dummy drawers are later though true to the period of the piece. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe influences on Regency design and taste were legion; from Sheraton's neoclassicism, Henry Holland's Anglo-French taste, the Greek revival of Thomas Hope, and the Chinoiserie favoured by the Prince Regent, to an interest in the Gothic, Old English and rustic.
