The drawers glide smoothly, the whole proves sturdy and in good original order. The dry texture attractive and all natural with a dry surface and richness of colour through the passing of time. The bracket feet are all original. There are two sections to the front that have been replaced as photographed and one small area of moulding lacking to the front lower left section. The handles are possible original, the escutcheons probably later.

This chest has that enviable natural bleaching which is impossible to fake and means it can sit happily in a traditional or more modern setting; the colour here is key and the price very buyable.
