Schuco was the trade name for Schreyer \u0026amp; Co, a German toy company founded in 1912 in Nuremburg.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eFamous for its tinplate toys, Schuco ceased production during the 1914-1918 war, but afterwards began making teddy bears, with a Yes\/No bear, reputedly first seen at the Leipzig toy fair in 1921.In 1927 the Compact bears were created, designed for ladies, and small enough to fit in their handbags.
